FEX – Subways Of Your Mind (The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet)

We are proud to present the SECOND OFFICIAL vinyl release of “Subways Of Your Mind” by FEX. This time it is a REMASTER of the recently discovered original TMMS VERSION. This is the recording that was played at NDR RADIO in the mid 80s, the version of “The Most Mysterious Song” that started it all!

Together with the recently issued DEMO version of “Subways Of Your Mind” (backed with “Heart In Danger”) this is the band’s second 7″ single. To fit with the previous release we decided to keep the artwork as simple as possible and inverted the colours. These two singles hopefully work together as a nice couple. The new disc will be backed with “Talking Hands”, another in-demand track from the band which was found on the original “yellow tape” demo cassette.

Aside from the classic black vinyl pressing we also offer you a super special splatter vinyl variant this time! It will be limited to 1500 copies in total and should be an instant collector’s item!
But that’s not enough: We also offer a playable Vinylpostcard. Yes, this is a postcard that can be put on a turntable and plays on one side! On the rear it additionally shows the official lyrics of the TMMS version which are slightly different to those on the previously issued demo version. The postcard contains the unmastered and raw “Subways Of Your Mind” TMMS version which was finally found on a cassette from Michael Hädrich’s archive. The Artwork shows the original cassette (whereas the writings have been photoshopped and additional writings on the cassette have been removed).

Don’t miss your chance to own these beautiful new vinyl pieces of the most mysterious song!

The digital release is exclusive to Bandcamp. Both main versions are the first official masters of the songs.
(Note: The master of SOYM was replaced on February 14th with adjustments, less “crosstalk”, in the stereo field.)

Quick note about the vinyl postcards: These 5″ discs are a bit unique! While they’re playable, some turntables might have trouble with the smaller size – for instance, they may not play all the way to the end if the tonearm is fixed or automated. Just a heads-up!

IMPORTANT NOTES:
– Only 1 Splatter vinyl is allowed per customers. So you either choose the Splatter Bundle (with Postcard) or just the Splatter 7” alone
– To any splatter vinyl order you can add 1 or 2 black vinyl copies
– Orders with Splatter 7″ + Splatter/Postcard Bundle will be immediately and COMPLETELY cancelled as Bandcamp does not allow partial cancellations!
– Orders with 3 black vinyl copies will also be cancelled completely.
– You can combine your order with 1 copy of the previously issued demo versions 7″ (yellow cover with black logo) but we recommend to order seperately.

If we notice multiple orders under the same name or same e-mail address or significantly similar addresses/family names we may cancel your order. Please just be fair!

From the digital sales 60% of the net revenue will go directly to the band. To support FEX on future projects you can optionally pay more, any revenue above 5 EUR will be shared 70% with the band.

Special thanks to our engineers: Robert Wenzel took care of restauration and post-mixing while Frederic Stader made the final analogue mastering of the main version. Finally, Daniel Krieger of SST did the vinyl cut.
Also special thanks to Kenneth at vinylpostcards.com.
